The Art of Layering
The Art of Layering
The beauty of layering is in looking beyond the notes of one Eau de Parfum. Combining fragrances with complimentary, or even unexpected notes creates infinite possibilities when discovering a scent that actually feels like you.
So, how do you do it?
Gourmand fragrances bring indulgence. Edible notes like vanilla, caramel, marshmallow or chocolate that feel warm and inviting on the skin. On their own, they can be extra sweet. But paired with a woody fragrance, they take on something more nuanced.
Woody fragrances bring balance. Sandalwood, cedarwood and cashmere add depth and dimension, grounding the sweeter notes with something dry, smooth and sophisticated.
Together, they create a contrast that feels memorable.
Finding Your Balance
Now comes the part where you get to be an artist - mixing, exploring and creating something entirely your own. Start with your gourmand then layer in the woody fragrance a few sprays at a time. What do you think? If you want something a bit sweeter, let the gourmand lead and add a bit more. If you want more depth, continue to layer on the woody notes. Speaking from experience - take this part slow. You can always add more, but removing fragrance on the other hand, is a different story.
You can also experiment with placement. Layer them on top of one another for a seamless blend, or apply to different pulse points on the body to let them evolve throughout the day.
When you start to think of fragrance application as an art, rather than a formula, you will find that there is no single perfect combination. Only the one that feels right on your skin.
